Until it's you with me, and it's only we
You and me, and us and them.
When did we did we come to rely on dichotomy?
Aren’t we all humanity?
Mmmm but the sweet sweet taste of ignorance,
Summing up lives in uninformed, specific dimension.
Caging human with stereotypical perception.
“Don’t challenge it you’ll ruin my equation”,
“'Cause they = this, and that’s all they’ll ever be”
The cry of our minds, desperate for categorisation.
When will we learn to unveil our eyes?
Let the light pierce our hearts.
Let it burn, let it burn,
Burn our passive discrimination.
All we misunderstand,
All we don’t bother to comprehend,
Now raw and seething wounds.
Laying truth bare,
Let it affect you.
Let it wreck you.
Let it make a human of you, and a human of them.
Mould my heart, your scars, our vulnerability,
Into loving understanding,
Until it’s you with me, and it’s only we.

My mum snapped this at the family bach in Dec 2016. From the left is my grandad Spot (90 years old and still determined to fix my broken belt), me, Alice and my cutie cousin, Hana.
