Gather & Grow
Alright ya'll. Are you up for a challenge? Are you ready to participate? To start breaking down your biases? To create more holistic social environments for both yourself and the people around you? Are you ready to...wait for it...Gather & Grow?
I don't know about you, but I know about me, and I know I want to. Same Difference is all about finding that 360˚ view of humanity. How much richer a life, an understanding of our existence would we have if we consulted more of our brothers and sisters. We cripple ourselves and our community's growth by only talking to people who think like us, people that look like us, people that are easy.
So, as I said to those of you who came to the final showcase for Live the Dream, I want to invite you to join me in the first expression of Grow & Gather.
SAVE THE DATE
"What am I saving it for?" I hear you say. Follow the steps below, and then you'll know.
Step 1. Invite someone for dinner that you wouldn't normally.
Step 2. Around the dinner table, create an environment that celebrates the sharing of everyone's stories and perspectives. If you are wondering how to do this, never fear! Closer to the date, I'll provide you with some handy (but not lame!!) get-to-know-you gems, a central topic that you can base your conversation around, and some sneaky questions to get discussion flowing in the lulls.
Step 3. Take a picture of your wee party, and upload it to social media with the hashtag #samediff. And if people ask, tell them what it means, tell them why you're doing it.
Optional Step 4. Now I say optional, but this is pretty much the most exciting part for me! I would love to know how you found the experience. What did you learn? What was hard? What surprised you? Would you do it again? Your reflections will not only be so beautiful for me to read, but I promise you, the mindful recollection of the night will benefit you too. So if you're up for it, you can email them here: firstname.lastname@example.org
The epic thing about this event is that it doesn't matter where you are, you can participate from anywhere in New Zealand, or greater yet, anywhere in the world.
So, keep your ears peeled for more info, share the event with your friends and family, and most important of all, don't forget to invite someone for dinner!
Aroha mai, aroha atu.

Coffee at Dux Dine with some of my friends back in 2016. Get the halloumi salad man! It's the only salad I've eaten and remembered with happiness.
